Marketing Edge: Are you generic or unique?

Posted in: Blog, Marketing Tip by admin on August 2, 2010 | No Comments

Combine your brand name awareness and loyalty and you get brand equity. Products that have a strong level of confidence in their brand name and have loyal customers tend to have a higher percentage of consumers than their competitors. There is a sense of attachment between customers and the brand.  Consumers are willing to pay more for a product or service they prefer.

Brand equity comes with years of perfection and customer satisfaction. Not just anyone can acquire it. Your brand is your strength; take it beyond its limits. You want your brand be recognized and remembered by your customers.

Make sure that you aren’t the Average Joe on a busy street.

Sales Edge: Limited Time Offers – Do They Really Work?

Posted in: Blog, Sales Tips by admin on July 7, 2010 | No Comments

A big part of getting someone to buy into your offer is playing up the value vs. cost factor, which is heavily influenced by presentation. A great way to get people to instinctively buy is to make an offer that would seemingly be a mistake if turned down. Also, make sure that it is followed by a strict deadline in order to create a sense of urgency.

For example, I’m sure you’ve all seen those late night infomercials that claim “If you order within the next 30 minutes, we will double your supply of XYZ Cleaning Solution!” Would you believe that this simple solicitation can increase the amount of interest as much as 83%?

Keep this type of initiative in mind when deploying your next sales campaign, it will benefit you just as much as your customer perceives its value!

Marketing Edge: Referrals Make The Register Sing

Posted in: Blog, Marketing Tip by admin on June 20, 2010 | No Comments

It’s very clear to most people that there is a lot of power behind referrals. Referral marketing is the easiest, most cost effective, and targeted type of marketing available. No matter what industry, setting, or environment, referrals give any product or service an extra boost in the eyes of a potential consumer. Hearing about a product or service from a trusted source instills confidence in the buyer that they won’t get stuck with something that doesn’t live up to their expectations.

Start by asking your current clients to refer you to their close friends or relatives. This could have an immediate impact and prove to be the cheapest form of advertising you’ve ever done. Another great way to get a buzz going is to construct an incentive based referral program. This could be as simple as offering a free product for every referral. Get creative, but make sure that your incentive is worthwhile.

Take these extra steps the next time you’re in touch with one of your customers and expect to get much more than a “sure thing” in return.

Repeat sales show that your customer has instilled trust and dependability into your company. Make sure to follow through and give great customer service throughout the sales process is the key to attaining recurring revenue.

Learn from your past experiences and mistakes and use them to guide your future sales. Internet Edge: What’s the Stir about Google’s PageRank?

Posted in: Blog, Internet Marketing Tips by admin on April 3, 2010 | 2 Comments

It is no secret that Google holds almost 45% of the world’s share of searches. So gaining optimal exposure on Google’s SERP’s (Search Engines Results Page) can be a big ordeal for young and old companies alike.

Since the inception of Google’s free tool bar, people have been crazed with the built in PageRank indicator and its meaning. The indicator’s scale ranges from 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest attainable rank. This meter simply helps calibrate and measure the popularity of your site by looking at several factors (which is not exclusively disclosed by Google) including back links, keyword saturation, and tag information.

Here are a handful of helpful tips to help increase your website’s PageRank:

-    Hammer out 20 or more relevant back links to sites that have a PageRank of 4 or higher
-    Include top priority keywords in your meta and title tags
-    Put your top priority keywords closer to the <body> tag in HTML

By implementing these quick tips, you will increase the chances of gaining a higher PageRank from Google.

Internet Edge: Link It Up

Posted in: Blog, Internet Marketing Tips by admin on March 22, 2010 | No Comments

Without the help of others your business will never survive. A great way to get the most out of other businesses is to build a network of affiliates who have a say-so in promoting your site. Look for websites that are in a similar industry, but not your direct competition. Essentially, you need to ensure the relationship is mutually beneficial.

You also want to consider promoting your site at social networking events. You may come across other companies in similar industries who would complement your services or products.  These companies may be more inclined to exchange website links. To insure a streamlined process is in place, make sure to designate a page on your site specifically for links.  You can display this page to those who are interested in exchanging links.

Open up and toss your web address out to anyone that may benefit from it.

Don’t judge a product by its package

Posted in: Blog, Sales Tips by admin on February 6, 2010 | No Comments

When promoting your product, you want to sell what’s behind the whole picture. Consumers can see and read what the box or package says, but they also want to know what benefits come with buying the product.  The key to selling a product is simple; focus on aspects that will enhance the consumers’ life.   This concept is known as What’s In It For Them.

For example when you sell health-food products, you don’t want to promote it with the typical “good for your body” gimmick.  Instead, provide consumers with more detailed information on the benefits of your product or service .  Consumers are more receptive to the outcome of the product, than the general benefits associated with it.

Fill in the holes surrounding your product or service, and let your consumers know what’s in it for them.
