Internet Edge: What’s the Stir about Google’s PageRank?

Posted in: Blog, Internet Marketing Tips by admin on April 3, 2010 | 2 Comments

It is no secret that Google holds almost 45% of the world’s share of searches. So gaining optimal exposure on Google’s SERP’s (Search Engines Results Page) can be a big ordeal for young and old companies alike.

Since the inception of Google’s free tool bar, people have been crazed with the built in PageRank indicator and its meaning. The indicator’s scale ranges from 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest attainable rank. This meter simply helps calibrate and measure the popularity of your site by looking at several factors (which is not exclusively disclosed by Google) including back links, keyword saturation, and tag information.

Here are a handful of helpful tips to help increase your website’s PageRank:

-    Hammer out 20 or more relevant back links to sites that have a PageRank of 4 or higher
-    Include top priority keywords in your meta and title tags
-    Put your top priority keywords closer to the <body> tag in HTML

By implementing these quick tips, you will increase the chances of gaining a higher PageRank from Google.

Internet Edge: Link It Up

Posted in: Blog, Internet Marketing Tips by admin on March 22, 2010 | No Comments

Without the help of others your business will never survive. A great way to get the most out of other businesses is to build a network of affiliates who have a say-so in promoting your site. Look for websites that are in a similar industry, but not your direct competition. Essentially, you need to ensure the relationship is mutually beneficial.

You also want to consider promoting your site at social networking events. You may come across other companies in similar industries who would complement your services or products.  These companies may be more inclined to exchange website links. To insure a streamlined process is in place, make sure to designate a page on your site specifically for links.  You can display this page to those who are interested in exchanging links.

Open up and toss your web address out to anyone that may benefit from it.

People sometimes take for granted the powerful presence of the web.. They spend countless hours of time and tons of money on a web site only for it to lie dormant for months on end.  This dormancy is not giving your site the chance to get maximum exposure, which in turn could lead to maximum results. Why not use your web site to your advantage and market it effectively? It’s already there, so make it work for you!

Also, you can offer incentives on your web site for consumers to save money by using your products or services. Increase Your Site’s Visibility With Web Directories

Posted in: Blog, Internet Marketing Tips, Sales Tips by admin on September 12, 2009 | No Comments

Web directories are a very valuable tool for your inbound linking strategies and can also aid in your web site’s search engine placement. You can find plenty of good directories by searching on your targeted keyword phrase in any major search engine. A lot of times you can locate highly targeted directories, with substantial amounts of traffic, for little to no cost at all. Directories tend to be very easy to navigate and serve as a quick way for your target market to locate your business.

To evaluate the value of a specific web directory, consider the ranking of the page where the link placement of your site will occur. The ranking is indicative of how important search engines may find a specific page in that directory. Directories are a great way to increase the amount of qualified traffic to your web site which will in turn lead to higher client conversion ratios.

What’s the Value in Variation? How You Can Win Big.

Posted in: Blog, Internet Marketing Tips by admin on July 15, 2009 | 1 Comment

Do you remember that elementary school teacher that used to put all of those red marks on your book report for every single grammatical error? Well the day has finally come where you can get back at them and that red pride slasher. Believe it or not, it can actually be beneficial to be grammatically “incorrect” when it comes to marketing your website through search engines. We accept mistakes as a part of everyday life, so use misspellings and variations on words as much as you can to your advantage. In today’s business environment, people are in a hurry to find answers quickly, and they often fail to realize their own mistakes even when it’s typed right in front of them. You should be just as quick to capitalize on their mistake!

For example, if you are marketing the keywords “golf clubs”, it would also benefit you to use variations or misspellings such as “golf clibs”, “golf cubs”, and “gofl clubs”. The correct spelling of the term may cost several dollars to market, but the variations could get you on top of the bids for pennies each!

Grammatical geniuses are rare, so implement these suggestions into your Pay Per Click ad campaigns and watch your traffic soar. Your pockets will be full with all the money saved!

Expand beyond JUST Internet Marketing

Posted in: Blog, Internet Marketing Tips by admin on June 30, 2009 | No Comments

Getting new and unique customers to your web site should be a priority for all companies period. Actively promoting your web site using traditional internet marketing (Email campaigns, Pay-Per-Click campaigns, Search Engine Optimization etc.) is great but is not always going to get the most qualified traffic to your site. There are times when you have to step outside of the traditional marketing box and do things that no one else thinks to do. It is imperative that you create a connection with your customers through face-to-face client interaction and tie that into your internet marketing efforts.

Attend quality events in your community and share your business with everyone you can. The person you speak to may not have a use for what you offer but they probably know 5 people that do! If you can quickly communicate the benefits of your products or services, you can potentially double or triple your marketing efforts through free word-of-mouth advertising. Make sure to bring material that you can hand out to potential customers and focus on directing them to get more information from the web site. This will give you higher traffic rates and make your site much more visible to your targeted audience!

Get friendly with your competition

Posted in: Blog, Internet Marketing Tips by admin on May 17, 2009 | No Comments

hi Have you ever wondered what your competition does that gives them so much web traffic? Why not just ask? Competitor analysis does not always have to be a behind the scenes ordeal. Competitors will often share knowledge to people they feel could use the help. These same people may even boast about their achievements and are usually willing to give out quality information on how to get similar results. You don’t have to be devious at all and most people will give you what you are looking for if you simply ask for it. Let them know that you have conducted extensive industry research and their company’s website seemed to always pop up wherever you looked. This is a very non-invasive way to help you get great relevant information to apply to your own marketing efforts!
